SUBJECT:   Battle Participation Credit -  -  Campaign "Rhineland".

TO            :   Commanders of Units, Inclsure* No. 1.

         1.    Battle Participation Credit for campaign "Rhineland" has been approved by Commanding General, European Theater of Operations, US Army, for the units listed in Inclosure* 1.

         2.    Attention is invited to paragraph 7b. Section I, Circular 195, War Department,  18  May  1944, regarding eligibility of individuals to wear a bronze service star on the theater ribbon.

         4.    Attention is invited to General Order No 33, War Department,  1  May  45  redesignating the campaign "Germany" as campaign "Rhineland." No battle Participation Credit can be claimed for the campaign "Germany" by units, or by individuals for service in units, listed in enclosure 1. Entries in personnel records will be appropriately corrected.

Foot Note:

The war in Europe ended on May 8, 1945 with the Battalion moving into Pilsen, Czechoslovakia to perform reconstruction of the utilities and  other facilities destroyed by the war.  June was also a month of readjustment of personnel and preparation for transfer to other units as directed, with physical transfer to be effected on 4  July  1945.
