The first was the attendance of Bernard Gene Meier and wife Mary. Gene had been out of touch with all members of the 146 ECB since the end of WW II, 62 years ago, in spite of his never ending search for any one of the Battalion. It was by chance that a relative of his while browsing the Internet found our Website an saw his likeness in the picture of the
July 4th 1945 Victory Parade in Pilsen Czechoslovakia,
leading the 2nd Platoon, Co. "C".
Lenny Fox presented Gene with a framed copy of this picture to hang on his wall at home.
The second happy surprise was the announcement made by
Lamar Keith at the Saturday dinner that he and Glyn Shelby were engaged, presenting her with a gorgeous ring and a smakeroo kiss.
A couple of pictures of the event are shown below.
Kevin Fox, grandson of Lenny Fox,
recorded some Videos clips of the reunion. A CD-R of those clips is available for anyone who wants to receive one by land mail,
for the price of a thank you and a mailing address to be sent to.

Co. C News Letter
May 26th 2007
Welcome to the hot off the press newsletter. Sorry for the delay, time has flown by.
All reported a very good time for the reunion in Canton. Was great to welcome Gene and Mary Meier, we look forward to seeing them at many more upcoming events.
Other "C" Co members attending were:
Lenny and grandson Kevin,
Mugg and Hattie,
Russell and Faye and their daughter Carolyn,
Thomas and son Larry,
Joe and Maxine.
We were glad to have Blanche Bingham with her sister Jean Tingle from Arkansas and Marge Tubbs and Kaye. We were also glad to have Gus and Louise Glenewinkel,
Hugh Nance and Lamar Keith from Hdq Co meet with us.
Glyn's family attended the gathering Saturday night, was good to have them. Thank you Glyn and family for having a very long lasting memorable time together.
The main attraction Saturday night was being present as Lamar announced the engagement of he and Glyn and his presentation of the engagement ring. May the coming days bring them much happiness together.
The Battalion Reunion hosted by Lamar is to be held in Grove, OK so reserve the 5th and 6th of Oct for this get together. More details will follow as Lamar finalizes the plans.
If you have anything you would like to share with the Co in a newsletter, will be glad to include it. There are quite a few members we have not heard from in years????.
NOTE: The above is a true copy of the email newsletter sent by Co "C " Secretary, Paul Gray, to be published on the Website. Paul has informed us that his wife Rosie had been hospitalized with an acute case of Arythmia (atrial fibrilation) but that she was recovering nicely and would probably be back home in a few days. We wish her a speedy recovery from this annoying but serious condition.
